1975 Vintage Large Sterling Silver and Chinese Jade Bull Zodiac Taurus Pendant
This vintage pendant is made from a solid circle of pale green jade, set upon a silver mount with an ox or bull in the centre. The bull has blue gemstone eyes - these test as around the spinel range. There’s a UK import hallmark on the back, with the date letter for 1975 and the sponsor’s initials appear to be A&BJ.
The most recent years of the Ox are 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, and 2021. In Chinese zodiac, people born in the year of the ox are said to be loyal, honest and reliable! It could also translate as being a Taurus in Western Astrology. Taureans are thought to be loyal (but stubborn!), artistic and fans of the finer things in life.
With the bale, the total length is 7.1cm and it’s 5.3cm wide. Weighs 30.6 grams.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on a vintage piece.
