BOXED Franklin Mint 1980 24k Plated Sterling Silver Mother's Day Carnation Necklace
This vintage necklace by the Franklin Mint is made from sterling silver which has been heavily plated in 24kt gold. It features a large ingot style pendant, and the design depicts a carnation flower in the centre with a stylised leaf above and below and a wave pattern around the edge; this is repeated on both sides. It’s stamped Mother’s Day 1980 in very small font around the edge, plus the Franklin Mint maker’s stamp, 80 date letter, and there’s also a full UK import hallmark with the 1979-80 date letter. It hangs on its original 18” chain which is also 24k plated sterling silver. It comes in its original presentation box with paperwork.
With the bale, the total length is 3.4cm and it’s 2.0cm wide. The chain is 18”. Weighs 12.5 grams.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Looks barely worn (if ever!) and the box is in amazing condition. Just has some light storage marks, as you’d expect on a vintage piece.
