1925 Sterling Silver Running Race Medal / Pendant with Dragon Reverse

£75.00

Here I have a sterling silver running medal, hallmarked for 1925. The front features a nicely detailed scene of a pair of runner’s passing a relay baton. The back has a wonderful dragon insignia, with The Buffs (the nickname of the Royal East Kent Regiment of the British Army) on a banner below, with the name R.G.Almond and the date 1926. The medal is fully hallmarked on the back with the date letter for 1925, from the Birmingham Assay Office. The same medal but in bronze is held in the collection of the National Army Museum.

It is 3.2cm wide and 0.2cm deep. With the bale ring, the total height is 4.3cm. Weighs 17.2 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on an antique item.
