Collection of Ancient Roman Bronze Coins
Here I have a collection of 14 unresearched Roman bronze coins, all dug up by a metal detectorist in West Sussex. The Romans invaded Sussex in AD 43 and stayed for 367 years until AD410, when the Saxons arrived.
The smallest coin is about 1.0cm wide, the largest 1.8cm across. They weigh 27 grams.
Condition: The condition varies coin to coin, some are very worn but others have really good detail on one or both sides, especially considering they’ve been in the ground for so long.
