Antique Gold-Cased Baby's Rattle / Working Whistle Pendant with Coral

£275.00
sold out

This Victorian pendant is gold cased and set with coral. It depicts a baby’s rattle and whistle in miniature - I’ve seen lots of the full size version over the years but never a tiny one like this! There’s a working whistle at the top, with embossed decoration going down the body of the pendant and a piece of red coral at the end, the bells are represented by 4 little balls. The whistle is surprisingly loud for something so small!. It has a split ring for hanging at the back.

Measures 2.6cm long and 1.3cm across the widest point (with the balls). Weighs 1.7 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. There’s a dink to the mouthpiece, probably from a past user biting it a bit hard, it could probably be straightened out but I haven’t tried. But otherwise it’s in lovely condition with barely any wear to the gold casing, just a bit little the top of the mouthpiece, again from past use.
