This antique brooch is made from sterling silver. It ‘s oval, with a beaded edge, and in the centre it features an applied and hand engraved owl siting with a crescent moon, with ivy leaves to the sides. There’s a full UK silver hallmark on the lip of the brooch at the back, from the Birmingham assay office, with the date letter for 1888 and the maker’s initials T.W. It also has a lion passant for sterling silver in the centre at the back.

Measures 4.3cm long including the bale and 2.6cm wide. Weighs 4.5 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. The pin is a little slack but overall, the brooch just has the usual light surface marks which you’d expect on a vintage item.
