Vintage Sterling Silver with Ancient Roman Bronze Coin, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Necklace

£155.00
sold out

This vintage necklace is made of sterling silver and featuring a large ancient Roman bronze coin. The coin, which features the head of an emperor on the visible side and a horse and rider on the back, sits within a heavy bezel. The bezel is set with 3 little cabochon stones around the outside; these test as ruby, sapphire and emerald, though they may be lab-made. The pendant hangs from a substantial sterling curb link chain and it fastens with a large trigger clasp which is stamped 925. There are no maker’s marks that I can spot though this is certainly a studio made piece.

The total length is 18”. The bezel holding the coin is 2.8cm wide, not including any of the stones set around the edge. The chain is 6mm wide. It weighs 65 grams.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The silver just has some vey light marks, as you’d expect on a vintage piece. The coin obviously shows rubbing and wear, being over 2000 years old!
