Antique Silver Love Token Coin Pendant with Letter S and "Ode to Joy" Music

£75.00
sold out

This antique charm or pendant is made from a solid silver coin, which was sanded down and engraved to produce a love token. It features an ornate letter S on one side and the musical notation for the first bars of Ode to Joy by Beethoven on the other. The side of the coin has the Latin phrase Virbvs Vnitis (with united strength) which, along with the size and weight, makes it possible to identify that this coin was an Austrian 1 Corona, minted between 1912 and 1916 during the reign of Emperor Franz Jospeh. It is made of 835 grade silver and the bale at the top is sterling.

The total length is 3.3cm with the bale and 2.2cm wide across the middle. Weighs 4.5 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. Just has the usual marks and tarnish which you’d expect on an antique item and a little patch to the left of the S where someone previously acid tested the piece.
