1980 Vintage Sterling Silver Capricorn Zodiac Ingot Pendant by Birmingham Mint

£65.00
sold out

This vintage pendant is made from sterling silver. It’s one of a series of Art Nouveau inspired zodiac pendants produced by the Birmingham Mint in 1980. This one depicts Capricorn, with a lady and goat, standing in front of a floral arch with snowdrop flowers in the foreground. The detail no these is just gorgeous! The back is decorated with stars and there’s a large bale at the top. The front has a full UK Hallmark (just below the snowdrops), from the Birmingham Assay Office with the date letter for 1980 and the BM maker’s mark.

With the bale, the total length is 4.2cm and it’s 1.7cm wide. Weighs 6.3 grams.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on a vintage piece and there’s a horizontal scratch mark on the back where it looks like someone has previously acid tested it.
