Victorian Whitby Jet Working Whistle Pendant

£195.00
sold out

This Victorian pendant is made from Whitby jet, which has been cut and polished into the shape of a whistle, and it works! The little cap at the top is painted base metal (probably brass) and the split ring which is hangs on is steel. The whistle itself has a lovely faceted design and a very shrill noise when you blow it. Whistles carved from genuine jet are a rare find, most haven’t survived, but this one is in lovely condition!

The length is 4.4cm (this included the top cap and lug but NOT the split ring at the top) and 1.4cm wide across the widest point. Weighs 3.8 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. No chips or cracks, just has a couple of TINY fleabites to the edges.
