ON HOLD….Antique French Silver Chainmail Purse Pendant with Floral Clasp

This antique coin purse pendant is made from solid silver. The body of the purse is constructed from chainmail, with a little silver balls hanging at the bottom and a beautiful floral decorated clip frame at the top. There’s a loop on one side so it could be worn on a chain or chatelaine. Inside, it has a dividing panel, so you can put different denominations of coin in either side. The frame is stamped “Depose” (meaning it was made in France), there’s also several boar’s head stamps for 800 silver on the outside of the clasp.
The total length is 8.8cm and it’s 5.1cm across the widest point. Weighs 30 grams.
Condition: Very good antique condition. There are a few individual rings missing in the chainmail which makes a tiny gap in the design here and there, but it’s only noticeable when you look very closely and it doesn’t affect the structural integrity of the purse at all. The clip closes very securely with a firm click, there’s a small gap between the two halves of the clasp when closed but this appears to have always been like it. Overall, it just has the usual light wear which you’d expect on an antique item.
