Antique Scandinavian Silver Crowned Heart Solje Brooch with Birds and Drops
This antique brooch is made from unmarked silver which tests as around 800 grade, but being Scandinavian it is most likely 830. It’s in the shape of a crowned heart with bird shaped drops at the top and around drops running down the sides. The birds have lightly engraved detail and the arrows have punched linear patterns. The scrolled drop at the bottom is hand pierced and has further engraving. The tube clasp tells me this is a late Victorian example.
Measures 8.0cm long x 2.9cm across the crown (not including the width of the birds). Weighs 9.4 grams.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on a vintage item.
