Vintage 9ct Gold Welsh Love Spoon Pendant / Charm
This vintage charm or pendant is made from 9ct yellow gold. It’s shaped like a Welsh love spoon, and it’s hallmarked on the back for 9ct, from the Birmingham Assay Office. There’s a small jump ring at the top for hanging.
Love spoons are intricately carved wooden spoons originally given by young men to a girl who caught their eye as a sign of affection (and to show off their carving skill!). They’ve been a tradition in Wales since the 17th Century.
