1960s Vintage 9ct Gold Articulated Cat with Moving Tongue and Eyes Rare Charm / Pendant
This rare English charm or pendant is made from 9ct yellow gold. It’s in the shape of a 3d cat’s head and there’s a little lever at the bottom which, when you pull it downwards, makes the cat opens its eyes and poke out its tongue. The eyes are enamelled in green with black pupils, and the tongue is red. It has a full UK hallmark on one side, and the date letter appears to be for 1964. There’s a good sized jump ring at the top for hanging.
Measures 2.5cm long including the jump ring (when the lever is in the closed position), and 1.6cm wide. Weighs 7 grams.
Condition: Very good uncleaned vintage condition. There’s a little rubbing to the enamel on the tongue. The lever has a slight bend in it as this helps it stay in the closed position up inside the charm. Overall, it just has the usual very light marks to the gold which you’d expect on a vintage item.
