1963 Vintage 9ct Gold Articulated Cat with Moving Tongue and Eyes Rare Charm / Pendant
This rare English charm or pendant is made from 9ct yellow gold. It’s in the shape of a 3d cat’s head and there’s a little lever at the bottom which, when you pull it downwards, makes the cat opens its eyes and poke out its tongue. The eyes are enamelled in green with black pupils, and the tongue is red. It has a full UK hallmark on one side, with the date letter for 1963. There’s a jump ring at the top for hanging which is currently soldered shut
Measures 1.9cm long from the top of the ears to the chin, with the lever poking out by about 4mm, and it's 1.6cm wide. Weighs 7.4 grams.
Condition: Very good uncleaned vintage condition. No dinks or damage. The enamel is in good, bright condition. The lever needs a gentle wiggle sometimes to get it to move but otherwise seems to work well. Overall, it just has the usual very light marks to the gold which you’d expect on a vintage item.
