Vintage The Great Frog 1972 Hallmarked Sterling Silver Poseidon Neptune Ring - - Size S

£195.00
sold out

This vintage ring is made from sterling silver. It depicts the God of the Sea, Poseidon / Neptune, with amazing detail going al the way around. The ring has a full London hallmark within the band, with the date letter for 1972, with the sponsor’s initials DE. This design is credited to Paterson Riley, founder of the Great Frog in London, and 1972 happened to be the year the store was created so I presume DE was either the mark of a silversmith who Riley used before he got his own sponsor’s mark, or those were his original initials before he adopted a more rock’n’roll name?!

It’s a UK size S (about a US 9.25). The front of the ring measures 3.8cm north to south. Weighs 19 grams.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. No repairs or alterations. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on a vintage item.
