Antique 14ct Rose Gold Opening Heart Locket with Blue Stone
This antique pendant is made from 14ct rose gold. It’s set on the front with a pale blue stone which appears to be a cornflower sapphire. Inside, there’s room for 2 photos. The original frames and glass inserts have been lost but if you cut your pictures to the right size they will stay put. Please note - the internal frame and hinge are NOT gold, as was common when this locket was produced in around 1900. All the outer parts of the locket, including the split ring bale, are 14ct-15ct gold (unmarked but acid tested).
Measures 2.3cm long and 1.5cm wide. Weighs 2.1 grams.
Condition: Good uncleaned antique condition. There’s a large chip which has sheared ff the front of the stone, it’s only really noticeable if you examine the locket under a loupe, to the naked eye it looks presentable and it’s structurally fine, however the price reflects the damage. Otherwise the locket is it very good condition with minimal surface marks commensurate with its age. It clicks shut nicely and stays closed as it should.
