Vintage Unusual Silver-Plated and Purple Paste Studio-made Locket

£48.00
sold out

Here I have an unusual vintage locket, made of heavily silver-plated brass, and set with a huge purple paste stone in the middle and smaller mauve pastes around the outside. The back has a fantastic ripple pattern upon the surface and inside, there’s a hinged glass cover to protect whatever you put inside. Definitely has a studio-made look to it but there are no stamps that I can spot.

The main body of the locket measures 3.3cm long and 2.6cm wide. With the bale, the total height is 4.7cm. Weighs 18 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned vintage condition. The only sign of wear to the silver plating is on the lip, where you put your thumbnail to open the locket up. Inside, there are scratch marks where it’s been acid tested but the plating is SO thick you cant even see any brass under them. The large purple stone has a few little fleabites but overall is in nice condition and the same can be said for the inner glass, which has some nibbles to the edge. It clicks shut as it should and stays closed. Overall, it just has the usual marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on a vintage item.
