Vintage Sterling Silver and Turquoise Inlay Aztec Gods Locket - Taxco

£145.00
sold out

Here I have a vintage sterling silver locket made by Talleres de los Ballesteros in Taxco, Mexico. The front depicts two Aztec gods, and is inlaid with turquoise chips. It opens to reveal a good sized space inside where you could keep photos or a small momento. There’s a large bale at the top and the back has full Mexican sterling silver stamps. The locket is nicely made, with the 2 little photo-holding bezels that are inside fitting within one another perfectly when you close it up, and this design gives it a nice slim-line feel.

The pendant is 4cm wide. With the bale ring at the top, the total height is 6.4cm. Weighs 24.4 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned vintage condition. Just has a couple of small nibbles to the turquoise on the front. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it snaps closed and holds shut firmly. Overall it just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on a vintage item.
