Antique Victorian 9ct Gold Watch Swivel / Hook / Clasp / Charm Holder

£245.00
sold out

Here I have an antique 9ct gold swivel hook. It would originally have been used to attach a pocket watch chain to a button hole but today they make interesting charm holders, pendants or necklace clasps. There are a lot of modern reproductions of these around but this one is true antique from circa 1880-1890. It’s unmarked but acid tests as around 9ct and the gold has a deep buttery yellow colour. The bale at the top still swivels, though it is rather stiff.

Measures 3.1cm by 1.4cm. Weighs 2 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Very little wear, just has the usual light marks gold which you'd expect on an antique item.
