Unique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver & Garnet Flower Pendant - Brooch Conversion

£95.00
sold out

Here I have a beautiful late Victorian silver flower pendant, claw set with a Bohemian garnet in the centre. It started life as a brooch and I’ve converted it to wear as a pendant. It has really lovely detailing within the petals of the flower, and the sinuous leaves which swirl up the sides of the frame. It’s very typical of the Art Nouveau period, so dates to around 1890-1900. I’ve made a round bale for the top and I’ve given that a hammered texture which I think fits in nicely with the Art Nouveau design of the piece. It’s stamped as silver on the back and the bale and connecting ring which I’ve added are both sterling. (Please note - I also have it’s sister which I’ve yet to convert. That one is set with a turquoise stone.)

Measures 3.5cm long, and 2.6cm wide. Weighs 4.3 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Just has the usual marks to the silver which you'd expect on an antique item.
