ON HOLD…..Victorian 900 Silver Enamel Milan Cathedral Double Sided Gothic Pendant

£110.00

ON HOLD….

Here I have a beautiful late Victorian 900-grade silver pendant. It depicts Milan cathedral on one side in hand-painted enamel; this sits within a cobalt blue border with lovely Art Nouveau scrolls and flowers around the edge. The reverse has gothic lettering around the edge and the coiled snake (the biscione) in the middle, which is the historic symbol of Milan. The numbers 6 and 3 to the sides of the snake possibly represent the year 1863. It’s stamped as 900 silver, with the maker’s initials HAK on the ring holding the bale.

Measures 3.4cm long, and 2.5cm wide. Weighs 7.0 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. There’s one tiny chip to the enamel at about the 1 o’clock position but otherwise, it’s in lovely condition and just has the usual marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on an antique item.
