ON HOLD for R…..Vintage 26" Zuni Native American Carved Animal Fetish Bead Necklace

This Zuni necklace consists of 13 animal fetish beads and a bigger double pendant in the middle, with shell and turquoise tube beads running along the strands. The animals include several bears and foxes, a frog, a bunny, armadillo and tortoise. The stones include coral, onyx, jasper onyx and turquoise. The pendant in the centre appears to be a bear with a fox on its back. It fastens with a silver hook clasp.
Measures 26” long. To give an indication of the size of the animals, the central pendant is 3.7cm long, and the frog is 2.3cm long. Weighs 43 grams.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The stringing seems sound but this can weaken over time so it may need restringing at some point (please note: I don’t guarantee the stringing on vintage necklaces). One side has one less animal than the other and the tube beads aren’t completely even so it may have lost some beads at some point, or that might just be the design. The animals are in very good vintage condition with no damage that I can spot.
