Vintage Silver and Enamel Opening Shrimp or Prawn Pendant Locket and Chain
This vintage pendant and chain are made from sterling silver. The prawn is enamelled in light and dark blue, with googly eyes and the body and legs are articulated so it wiggles. The mouth hinges open to reveal a tiny compartment inside (i’m not sure you’d fit anything in there, its very small!) and this clicks shut when closed. It’s stamped as “Silver”. It hangs on a 17” chain which is also stamped for silver on the clasp and again on the ring next to it.
The pendant is about 6cm long not including the bale at the top and 0.9cm wide across the body. The chain is 17”. With the chain, it weighs 12 grams.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The enamel is in good order with no signs of rubbing/wear that I can spot. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on a vintage item.
