1896 Yellow Gold and Enamel Love Token with Bird in Pond and Engraved "Baba" on Back

£155.00
sold out

This antique pendant is made from unmarked yellow gold. It’s enamelled on one side with a white bird on a pond, with reeds and a bullrush to the edge. On the reverse the name Baba is engraved, with the date 1896. It’s unmarked but acid tests as at least 9ct gold and there’s a split ring at the top for hanging.

The pendant is 2.1cm long including the bale and 1.6cm wide. It weighs 2.0 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. There’s a little enamel loss here and there when viewed under a loupe and the engraving on the other side also is a little rubbed, mostly on the second “b”. However, this doesn’t detract from it being a beautiful and unusual antique piece.
