Pre-owned Sterling Silver Hardstone Frog with Carnelian Sun Pendant / Pin by Amy Kahn Russell
This pre-owned pendant / brooch is by popular US designer Amy Kahn Russell, all of whose pieces are completely unique and one of a kind! This one features a carved hardstone frog, reaching up towards a bezel-set carnelian sun. It’s mounted in sterling silver, and stamped with the AKR maker’s initials on the back. There are brooch fittings and a pendant bale on the back so it can be worn either way. The first photos were taken outside in bright sunlight, the remainder were indoors in natural light. The hardstone has a very dark treacle-y brown colour, with a creamy patch by the frog’s toes. The carnelian is a rich dark orange.
Measures 8.2cm long and 3.0cm wide. It weighs a hefty 48 grams.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. No damage. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on a vintage item.
