Antique 10ct Gold and Essex Crystal Reverse Carved Daisy Flower Charm / Pendant

£295.00
sold out

Here I have a late Victorian 10ct gold charm or pendant featuring a reverse carved Essex crystal. This is a true Essex crystal, made of rock crystal rather than glass, and it’s carved with an intaglio of a daisy on the back. The daisy has then been painted to make it look 3d. During the Victorian era, daisies symbolised loyalty, innocence and hope. The crystal is set upon a mother of pearl backing, within a 10ct rosey gold bezel with a closed back. It’s stamped 10ct and a design number on the back, and there are some very feint old pawn brokers numbers scratched on there too if you look through a loupe. It has a split ring at the top for hanging.

Measures 1.6cm wide and 2.3cm long including the bale ring at the top. It weighs 2.7 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. No cracks, damage or repairs. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the gold which you’d expect on an antique piece.
