Georgian Silver and Black Dot Paste Giardinetti Flower Basket Brooch
Here I have a Georgian silver and black dot paste brooch. It’s in the shape of a flower basket, with a large central bloom, with leafy tendrils to the side and a handled basket below. The stones are in closed back bezels and it fas a c-clasp pin on the back.
Measures 3.4cm x 2.7cm. It weighs 11 grams.
Condition: Good uncleaned antique condition. When viewed under a loupe most of the pastes have surface rubbing and a few have chips, there’s visible glue around a couple and one has sunk into its setting. However, it’s still a lovely piece of 200 year old paste jewellery and is priced with this wear in mind. Otherwise, the clasp is strong and the silver is in very good order.
