Antique Moonstone 9 Stone Graduated Bracelet - Silver & Yellow Metal

£185.00
sold out

This antique bracelet features 9 graduated moonstones; it’s tricky to photograph but they all have blue fire when the light catches them. Each stone sits within a handmade silver bezel and there’s a tiny hinge between each stone so it moves with your wrist. The little panels along the chain are also silver, and so is the box-clasp. The bracelet is not marked but acid tests as around 800 grade. All the tiny split rings between the panel links, plus the rings on either end of the moonstone row and on either side of the clasp are yellow metal (not gold, probably brass). It was common in antique jewellery to use mixed metals and these would have been used for strength and durability as brass is much harder wearing than silver. The photos are taken in a mixture of direct sunlight and shade.

Measures 17cm / 6.75” long and the moonstone in the middle is 14mm wide across the front. Weighs 7.5 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition. All stones are original and held securely in their bezels. No chips or cracks to any of the stones, just the usual light surface scuffs here and there which you’d expect. The clasp closes securely. Just has the usual light wear and tarnish which you’d expect on an antique piece.
