Vintage Silver, Derbyshire Blue John and Marcasite Ring - Sz O / 7.25
Here I have a vintage sterling silver ring, set with a doublet of Derbyshire Blue John gemstone in the centre, with marcasite swags around the edge. It;s stamped as sterling silver within the band.
It’s about a UK size O (US 7.25). It measures 2.1cm at the front from north to south. The Blue John is about 9mm by 7mm. Weighs 4.2 grams.
Condition: Very good uncleaned vintage condition. Blue John is a fairly soft mineral and the striations you see on the stone are part of it’s natural state over time. All the marcasites are present and in good condition. Overall, it just has the usual light marks and tarnish which you'd expect on a vintage item.
