Edwardian Sterling Silver Goddess with Sun-rays and Poppies Pendant - Unger Bothers? - Conversion
This pendant is made from sterling silver. It came to me as a button and I’ve converted it to make it a more wearable piece. I made the loop and chunky bale from recycled sterling silver - I’ve given the bale a hammered texture so it appears aged and I’ve soldered it shut. The pendant itself features a beautiful; goddess in profile, There are clouds to the lower edge which blend in with her flowing hair, sunrays illuminating behind her and a flowering poppy below. I’ve seen this design before with an Unger Brothers stamp on the back but this piece is unsigned and just has a UK import hallmark with F for foreign and the lion passant for sterling silver. It dates from c. 1900.
Please note! The chain in the last photo is for display only and is not included.
The pendant, including the bale, is approx 3.9cm long x 2.3cm wide. Weighs 6.7 grams.
Condition: Very good antique condition. Just has the usual light marks and wear which you’d expect from an antique piece.
