Georgian Cut Steel Long Bar Brooch with Flower Terminals
Here I have a Georgian cut steel bar brooch. It features a double line of studs on the middle with a flower or starburst at either end. It would have been formed from individual faceted steel studs which would have been riveted by hand onto the brass backing plate - a painstaking process. The brooch fastens with the original c-clasp and steel pin which are also riveted onto the back.
Measures 7.2cm x 1.7cm. It weighs 7 grams.
Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No missing studs or signs of repair. Just has the usual light surface marks which you’d expect on an antique item.
