Antique/Vintage Cowrie Shell Opening Locket / Vessel Pendant
Here I have an antique/vintage pendant formed from 2 shells (cowrie I think), held within a medal clip frame. There are 2 small bale rings on the outside - originally there would have been a chain running between these. The frame appears to be nickel or similar.
Measures 2.9cm wide. The space inside each shell is 2.4cm wide and 1.5cm long and approx 0.8cm deep. Weighs 7 grams.
Condition: Very good uncleaned antique/vintage condition. No damage to the shells. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it shuts very securely with a strong click.
