1925 Sterling Silver Pair of Fish with Empty Cartouche Pendant / Medal

£55.00

Here I have a beautiful Art Deco sterling silver medal / pendant. It features a pair of engraved fish with an unengraved shield in the centre, there’s a tiny arm holding a sword above and banners top and bottom. The edge has an engraved rope design. On the back it says “Alms House Cup Final. 1925-26. W.Buss” so it seems it was a prize for a football competition. An almshouse is a house owned by a local charity which offers low cost, self-contained accommodation to people on low incomes. The pendant is fully hallmarked on the back with the date letter for 1925, from the Birmingham Assay Office.

The pendant is 1.5cm wide and 0.2cm deep. With the bale ring, the total height is 3.5cm. Weighs 8.4 grams.

Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you'd expect on an antique item.
